Gunnar M. Ekelove-Slydal

Gunnar M. Ekelove-Slydal is Head of Policy at the Norwegian Helsinki Committee (NHC).

He studied philosophy, history of ideas, religion, mathematics, journalism, human rights, and multicultural understanding at the University of Oslo and the University of South East Norway.

He has extensive work experience as an editor and project coordinator at the Norwegian Center of Human Rights, lecturer and Church organist. He has written extensively on human rights and philosophical themes. Responsibilities in the NHC comprise oversight of projects and programs, international criminal law related activities, Norway projects and reporting and editing.

He has been a lecturer in human rights and international criminal law at the University of South East Norway, and regularly takes part in international research projects. He has been leading NHC’s work to support the Global Magnitsky Justice Campaign, including by taking part in lobbying efforts in Norway and other European countries.
